Shekhawat to declare assests
Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat is likely to declare his assets on Saturday even as he came under attack by UPA-Left.
The ruling coalition, which is fielding Pratibha Patil in this year’s Presidential polls, has raised questions about his role in the freedom struggle.
The move comes two days after the Election Commission rejected leader of the Opposition Lal Krishna Advani’s demand for presidential candidates to make public their assets.
Shekhawat will declare the assets in an attempt to embarrass the UPA-Left, which has consistently argued against any declaration sighting no provision in the Constitution.
