Lok Sabha elections will be held on schedule : Congress
The Congress on Thursday claimed that it would retain power after the Lok Sabha polls which will be fought “under the leadership of Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister” and said the elections will be held on schedule.
“Congress will contest the elections under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi as party chief and Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister,” party General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi told reporters.
Dwivedi’s remarks came when asked about who would be the UPA’s candidate for the Prime Ministership in the next elections.
He said the elections will be held on schedule when asked whether the party plans to advance the polls.
