First of all, we, the residents of Ranjeet Nagar (in Patel Nagar) would like to congratulate you for getting ticket from our area. We want you to win because you (and your party) has served people very well in the past. However, you will certainly have great and difficult tasks before you, but also many opportunities to create change in our lives. It is therefore important for you to know about some of our basic problems.
Mr. Lilothia, we would like to draw your attention towards the unauthorized scrap market in our area (Ranjeet Nagar). Despite the fact that our area is residential, scrap dealers have been operating their business in our neighbourhood for last 20 years.
For two decades, we have been facing the problem of noise and air pollution. We have to bear the noise of trucks carrying scrap supplies to the area. The dealers encroach on the resident’s footpath and hammer the scrap material that creates loud sound. We are living under the noise of constant hammering of steel on steel. It not only disturbs the residents (especially students) but also causes annoyance and aggression among them.
Above all, the noxious smells coming out of the burned scrap material is a matter of concern. The scrap material is filled with all kinds of trash, mosquitoes and other pests, posing a serious health hazards to the people. Several infants and young children also reside in this area and could easily contract diseases like malaria, asthma, hypertension, migraine etc. In fact, many people are already suffering from breathing problems, hypertension and heart diseases just because of the pollution caused by the scrap dealers.
The shops are also creating inconvenience for the vehicles to pass through the lane.
Moreover, these scrap dealers have formed a kind of ‘Gunda Raj’ in our neighbourhood. They misbehave with women and they are a threat to the security of the residents living in this area.
Several complaints have been made to local authorities and police but unfortunately, we find that scrap dealers bribe the police officials every month. All the residents of Ranjeet Nagar area urge you to take the strict action against these scrap dealers and ensure that they shift their business to commercial area.
SO, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PRIORITIES AND IDEAS TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL GIVE THIS MATTER HIGHEST PRIORITY IN YOUR ELECTION CAMPAIGN.
