MCD Election Result: BJP and Congress in a close fight

The final day has come for the result of three civic bodies in the national capital.Counting of votes for 272 wards has started on 33 centres across the capital amid tight security, all results are expected to come by 3 pm. Both BJP and the Congress are locked in a bitter fight to control the three civic bodies. While the Congress has taken the lead in South Delhi, the BJP has moved ahead in North Delhi. In East Delhi the two parties are neck and neck.

Both Congress and BJP claimed their parties would sweep the polls. Delhi Congress chief JP Agarwal has said he was “100 per cent confident” about his party’s victory while his BJP counterpart Vijender Gupta was “certain” his camp was going to win all the three Corporations.
